How should we handle endorsments with a MyVisionX scanner?

Update:  The TransportReadyToSetEndorsement is the preferred approach to endorsing.  Implementing application behavior that is customized based on make, mode etc is no longer recommended.  Please refer to the TransportReadyToSetEndorsement section in the Ranger API guide for more information.


Because the MVX uses fixed endorsement, the application must use Ranger's SetFixedEndorseText() to establish the endorse text *prior* to the item to be endorsed entering the track.

Setting endorse text on the MVX is done by calling SetFixedEndorseText() in the application's OnTransportReadyToFeed event handler to set endorse text for the first item prior to the start of scanning. Then, once scanning has started, the application must call SetFixedEndorseText() in each pass through the application's OnTransportNewItem event handler to set the endorse text for the next item waiting to feed into the track.
