What can cause a MICR/image mismatch on a CR-180?

Why is the reported MICR not for the correct check image?  It seems to be off by one or two checks.

This was an issue with some CR-180 scanners using an older firmware.  It was corrected with firmware version 3.05 or later.  You can download the latest firmware at the folowing site:
